The rehab facility where the physical therapists work with you at, that's nice and clean. They have a conference room and a dining area. She suffered a stroke, so we are trying to get her taste buds back. She says she doesn't like it, but I don't see anything wrong with it.

For dinner there is a choice between two entrees. On this particular night it was either fish or meatloaf. What did impress me was one staff person who was exceedingly polite and sensitive to a resident.

Another resident seemed to like one particular CNA. The residents I spoke to were chatty and seemed comfortable. Overall this seemed to be a rather ordinary nursing home but on its way toward improvement. My sister-in-law was at STRIVE Center for Rehabilitation at Bria of Palos Hills for rehab before she went to their assisted living. My husband visited her there on the patio, and we went by. The senior living where she is now is excellent.

Compared to the other places my mother has been, I think the overall experience been excellent. I think the staff is very attentive, helpful, and friendly. The room and the overall place is nice, and definitely a lot cleaner than others I've seen. Very clean facility, professional and compassionate care. 4 stars compared to the IL average of 2.91 and a National average of 3.12. 4 stars compared to the IL average of 3.38 and a National average of 3.33.

Although I had POA and would always do my homework on the facility my mother would receive care, I was having my son and gave temp poa to my brother. My mother had been in this facility for 3 days before I was able to see her, I was able to make it to the hospital she was leaving from to go the this facility and she looked great. She was talking and in overall good spirits. I requested she be taken to an emergency room for evaluation and sure enough she had pneumonia and was admitted to the Hospital.

I suggest they give instruction on which entrance to use if you're meeting someone outside. We're satisfied with the care she received there. My mother is in rehab now at BRIA of Palos Hills. I had to give a compliment to one of the nurses that were there. Even though my mom has been there for almost six weeks, they've been doing a very good job, and I told them that. They have an activity room, my mother hasn't made it there yet, but where they do arts and crafts, where they have popcorn socials, and where they make things, that's nice too.
